I'm Ashley Mathis — corrective skin specialist focusing on acne and hyperpigmentation, and lash specialist focusing on natural lash extensions. But before any of that, I was a Human Resources Administrator with over 10 years in HR and customer service — and I know exactly what it feels like to need to show up polished when life isn't giving you the time to get there.
Every day I watched the Director of Nursing prepare for meetings in her office — mascara, foundation, lipstick — making sure she looked put together before stepping in front of her team. And then there was me. A mother rushing through her morning with no real beauty routine, knowing I needed to look presentable to conduct new hire orientations, but not always having the time or the tools to make it happen.
Between the two of us — a director and an HR administrator, both high-visibility women in professional roles — what we were missing wasn't skill or dedication. It was confidence and time.
One day I discovered lash extensions. That one discovery changed everything. It led me to beauty school, where I fell completely in love with skincare. And that love became A1 Skin and Lash.
I built this spa for the woman I used to be. The one rushing out the door. The one watching her colleague put on mascara in her office. The realtor, the attorney, the teacher, the reporter — every high-visibility woman who deserves to walk into every room looking effortlessly confident without spending hours getting ready.
